An Ota Magistrates Court in Ogun on Tuesday, sentenced two men, Abdulazeez Junior, 26, and Adebayo Aferz, 25, to three months imprisonment for stealing a Samsung Android phone valued at N250,000.

In her judgment, the Magistrate, Mrs O.O. Fadairo, however, gave the convicts an option of fine of N20, 000 each.

The Prosecutor, Insp E.O. Adaraloye, had told the court that the convicts committed the offences on June 17 at about 11.30 p.m at Joju bus-stop, Ota.

Adaraloye said that the convicts stole a Samsung Android phone valued at N250,000 belonging to the complainant, Ewe Enahoro.

He said that Afeez received the stolen mobile phone from Junior knowing fully well that the item was stolen.

The prosecutor added that the police also found suspected hemp with them in the process of arresting the convicts.

He said that the offences contravened Sections 427, 430(1) and 516 of the Criminal Code Laws of Ogun, 2006.
