The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), on Saturday, announced 829 new cases of COVID-19 infections in the country.
The health agency disclosed that Lagos had the highest record of the fresh cases with-296, FCT-291, Kaduna-79, Rivers-40, Kano-35, Nasarawa-25, Bauchi-19, Benue-8, Borno-7, Edo-7, Oyo-7, Sokoto-7, Cross River-3, Jigawa-3, and Ogun-2.
The agency said one death occurred in the country in the last 24 hours, as the fatality figure increased from 1,246 on Friday to 1,247 on Saturday.
The data from the agency disclosed that 256 patients were discharged in the last 24 hours as the figure of discharged cases stood at 70,495 while 11,834 cases were still active in the country.
NCDC explained that the discharges on Saturday included 113 community recoveries in Lagos State and 92 community recoveries in Kaduna State managed in line with guidelines.
