19-year-old Nigerian Lady bags first-class degree in Computer Science, wins overall best student award

A brilliant 19-year-old Nigerian named Sarah Solarin has obtained a first-class honors degree in Computer Science from Babcock University, Nigeria.

Sarah’s exceptional performance earned her the overall best-graduating student in the university’s  School of Computing and Engineering Sciences. She shared the achievement on Linkedin.

In addition to her accomplishments, Sarah said she was awarded as the student with the Highest cumulative grade point average in her department and was on the dean’s List as the overall Best Graduating student of the faculty.

Sarah said she not only earned her bachelor’s degree with a perfect 5.0 grade point average in her final semester but also defended and published her final year project titled ‘Brain Tumor Identification and Classification Using YOLOv5 in Radiomics Analysis of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Scans,’ earning an impressive A grade of 90.

She also won several awards, including the prestigious Google Generation Scholarship for academic merit, the University Dean’s Prize for Highest CGPA in the School of Computing, and the Engineer (Dr.) Akin Alade Family Award for the best-graduating student.

Additionally, she received the Folajimi Daodu Award and the Labulo Prize, donated by Professors Biodun and Elizabeth Disu, the Academic Excellence Award from the Micheal Adetutu Foundation, which came with a cash prize, a plaque, a certificate, and access to life-coaching and career services.
