No fewer than sixteen All Progressives Congress governors have reaffirmed their support for Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma as chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, quashing reports of a leadership change.
The governors met behind closed doors at the Imo State Governors’ Lodge in Abuja on Friday and passed a vote of confidence in Uzodimma and his deputy, Kaduna Governor Uba Sani.
The move followed rumours that some APC governors had named Enugu Governor Peter Mbah as the forum’s new leader on Thursday night.
Governors from Ondo, Gombe, Kaduna, Taraba, Edo, Sokoto, Ebonyi, Borno, Lagos, Kogi, Kano, Yobe, Kebbi, Benue, and Jigawa attended physically. Nasarawa State was represented by its deputy governor.
Taraba Governor Agbu Kefas attended briefly before leaving after a short meeting with the host governor.

Kebbi Governor Nasir Idris moved the motion for the vote of confidence, stating that Uzodimma and Sani remain chairman and deputy chairman of the forum.
The show of support comes as tensions over leadership and strategy within the PGF surface ahead of the 2027 election cycle.
