Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Zulum has approved the reconstitution of the Board for Borno State Bureau for Public Procurement.
The decision followed the expiration of the tenure of the current chairman and board members who have served the stipulated four-year term.
In a statement by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, Dauda Iliya, the governors power to reconstitute the Board is derived from Section 4(1) of the Borno State Bureau for Public Procurement and Other Related Laws.
“Following the expiration of the tenure of the Chairman and Members of the Board for Borno State Bureau for Public Procurement after serving for the statutory period of four (4) years, His Excellency, Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, has reconstituted a new Board for the proper running of the Bureau,”.
The statement adds that the appointed new board is to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the bureau.
The new board has the Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development as Chairman.

The Director General Bureau for Public Procurement will serve as Secretary.
The appointment is subject to confirmation by the State Assembly.
