Yuletide: RRS steps up patrol of hot spots in Lagos

Acting on the directive of the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP, Hakeem Odumosu, that no stone should be left unturned in ensuring that Lagosians have a peaceful yuletide celebration, Commander, Rapid Response Squad (RRS), CSP Yinka Egbeyemi, on Wednesday intensified patrol of parts of the metropolis.

Parts under patrol included Ogudu, Iyana Oworo, Somolu, Bariga, Anthony, Alapere, Mile 12, Ketu, Ojodu Berger, Isheri and Magodo.

In Somolu, the Commander interacted and appealed to youths and community leaders to eschew violence and give peace a chance.

He advised the youth to redirect their energies in honing their innate talents and engaging in productive ventures.

He warned youth bent on staging street carnival and parties in disobedience of the State Government’s guidelines on COVID – 19 that they would have themselves to blame if arrested.

He enlightened them on the State Government’s ban on street carnival or party, gathering and COVID – 19 protocols, stressing that COVID – 19 guidelines were in the larger interest of the society.

He warned them that the squad would be unsparing in dealing with those bent on fomenting trouble and engaging in violence.
