YouTube has taken down the music video for Seyi Vibez’s popular song “Different Pattern” following a copyright claim.

The video was removed due to the unauthorized use of samples from the late Nigerian music legends Orlando Owoh and Musiliu Haruna Ishola in the song’s introduction.

“Different Pattern” is a standout track from Seyi Vibez’s EP “NAHAMciaga,” released in December 2023.

The EP gained massive commercial success, ranking among the most-streamed songs in Nigeria in 2024.

However, the copyright claim, which specifically cites the unauthorised use of Owoh’s material, has led to the video’s removal from YouTube.

Seyi Vibez is known for blending classic Nigerian sounds with modern street culture, creating a unique sound that resonates with his audience.

His previous project, “Billion Dollar Baby,” also featured a sample from gospel singer Sola Allyson’s “Eji Owuro,” showcasing his tendency to incorporate elements from various genres and eras into his
music.

As of now, neither Seyi Vibez nor his management team has issued an official statement regarding the takedown or plans to resolve the copyright issue.

The removal of the video highlights the ongoing challenges artists face in balancing creative expression with intellectual property rights.
