Tobi Amusan cruised into the semi-finals of the Women’s 100m hurdles at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary on Tuesday night.
Amusan clocked 12.48s to win heat 5 in convincing fashion.
The 26-year-old’s time was the third fastest of all the five heats.
The fastest time was returned by America’s Kendra Harrison in heat 3. She returned at 12.24 seconds.
Harrison was followed by Bahama’s Devynne Charlton who returned after 12.44 seconds.
The Ogun-born athlete will face a strong field in the semi-finals on Wednesday.
The final is slated for the National Athletics Centre, Budapest, on Friday.
Amusan is the defending champion and record holder in the 100m women’s hurdles.
She won a historic gold medal in the event a year ago in Oregon, United States of America. [Prompt News]
