The Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone XI Command, Osogbo in Osun state, AIG Christy Cookey, has reiterated that the effort of IGP Usman Alkali Baba, on Police reforms, his security architecture of community policing of engaging critical stakeholders and providing all necessary means to secure all Nigerians anywhere in the country, is sacrosanct.

The AIG Zone XI made this known while paying homage to the Arole Oduduwa, Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II.

The AIG affirmed that the Nigeria Police would always come to the traditional rulers to seek for their royal support and advice, in ensuring that the concept of community policing was not just on paper but manifesting at the grassroots because traditional rulers were the custodians of people, tradition and culture.

AIG Cookey told the Ooni and all Chiefs present that various methods of policing that would ensure the security of people and property, which included visibility policing, were being jointly worked on by her and the Commissioners of Police within the zone.

Welcoming the AIG and her entourage to his palace, the Ooni Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, who is a co-leader of African monarchs, among several other responsibilities in Nigeria and around the world, gave his royal blessing to the AIG and said he was happy as the Chancellor, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, that AIG Christy Cookey, who is a product of that institution, was not only lifting the name of the school but also making the Nigeria Police and the nation proud.

The royal father however assured the police officers of his adequate support to them whenever they seek for it.

In AIG’s company were the DC B ‘Op’s, DCP Felix Ohagwu; DC DFA, DCP Reuben Abiola; Area Commander Ife, ACP Abiodun Alabi; O/C ZIB, CSP Suleiman Olalere; Zonal PPRO, SP Ayeni Benjamin; O/C Legal, SP James Famuyini, other Police Officers and PCRC Zone 11 Command Executives.
