A teenage housewife has been arrested by the Adamawa State Police Command for allegedly placing a hot pressing iron on and around the private part of her stepdaughter.
The police said the housewife, 18-year-old Aisha Mohammed, caused the bodily harm to her five-year-old stepdaughter because the minor urinated in her bed.
Aisha Muhammed is a resident of Wuro Patuji, a village in Mubi South Local
Government Area in northern Adamawa.
Her stepdaughter reportedly lived in the house with her mother after her father and mother divorced each other.
“Investigation reveals that the suspect, being the second wife to the victim’s father, committed the offence by using hot iron, tortured and inflicted injury on the private part of the baby,” a report by the Nationnewsleader quoted the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Suleiman Nguroje, to have said in a press statement.
