Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers has described as inconsequential the resignation of the Chairman, PDP Board of Trustees, Walid Jibrin, insisting on the resignation of the party’s National Chairman, Dr Iyorchia Ayu.

Wike said that Ayu must resign as he promised, even as he accused an unnamed aide of President Muhammadu Buhari of backing the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, for the 2023 election.

Wike, on Thursday, alleged that the support of the Presidency official was giving Atiku confidence and making the former vice president arrogant.

The governor stated that in due time he would disclose the identity of the Buhari’s aide providing support for Atiku and the PDP.

Wike noted that the same forces at the Presidency promised one of the presidential aspirants of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the party’s ticket.

He, however, said the Presidency forces failed in their promise.
