Wike bestows Rivers State Honours on Idris

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has honoured former Kogi Governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris with the highest state award, Distinguished Service Star of Rivers State DSSRS.

The award which took place at the banquet hall of the Government House in Port Hacourt on Saturday attracted dignataries from all walks of life.

According to Wike, Idris was honoured for his genuine commitment to the development of the state and the entire country.

“For two consecutive time, we have invited the two term Kogi Governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris to commission two developmental projects in Rivers State, one was in March this year and the other was in August, 2022.

“We hold him in high esteem and considered him as a worthy a ambassador of Rivers State.

“As a stakeholder for Rivers State project, we will not hesitate both now and in the nearest future to continue to eat into his good time for the continuous development of the state.”

Reacting to the Rivers State honour, Jakadan Sokoto, described the event as epoch making, considering the all-round development of Wike in the state.

He expressed delight for being part of the success story, advising other state governors to strife to leave a good mark on the sands of time.
