Kaduna State Governor, Governor Nasir el-Rufai has said most Nigerians see governors as thieves, corrupt and ineffective.
He was responding to a question on Channels TV Sunrise Daily transmitted Live from Kaduna.
He said he believedGovernor said this in response to being a governor in Nigeria was the worst “political office” job around.
el-Rufai said that despite the recession people still expected progress to happen “overnight”.
According to him, “Governors are the most suspected elected officials.”
“Everyone thinks Governors are just thieves and we are wasting state resources; that we are not doing anything.
“Governors are assumed to be taking security votes. When people hear security votes, they think it is a slush fund for Governors. So we have a very negative image out there.
“Meanwhile, we have one of the most difficult jobs in the world.”
