Actress Ini Edo has explained why she is still single at 41.
The Shanty Town disclosed this in a recent interview with media personality Toke Makinwa.
Ini Edo said her single status was a result of her desire for genuine love and commitment in a relationship.
The Akwa Ibom actress said she did not want to be in a toxic relationship but needed a partner who would protect her.
She added that money was not her sole focus, but she wanted a partner who could effectively manage situations and be kind.
She said: “I am single because I just want someone that will really love me, that is all! I am not asking for too much.”
“You can love someone, but you are not ready to be a committed person. I cannot be in a toxic relationship. If you cannot give me that protective energy that allows me to respect you, I cannot be with a man that I do not respect. If you cannot earn my respect, then we cannot be together because what is the point?
“Even if you do not have, sometimes it is not even about having money. It is about just how you are able to love and manage the situation, manage the people around you, kindness! I think that is what is missing.”
In 2021, Ini revealed that she chose surrogacy to fulfil her dream of being a mother.
“Yes I do have a daughter, and I had her through surrogacy. The eggs are mine, and so genetically she’s my blood. I chose this path to fulfil my dream of becoming a mother. I still have a good number of eggs frozen in case I decide to do surrogacy again or carry my baby myself. Who knows,” she told blogger Stella Dimoko Korkus. [QED]
