Nigerian music producer and founder of Mavin Records, Michael Ajereh, known as Don Jazzy, has opened up about why he remains single despite his success and fame.
The 42-year-old producer revealed that his main reason for avoiding marriage is his fear of heartbreak, betrayal, and divorce.
During an interview on YouTube, Don Jazzy spoke about how stories of failed marriages and cheating shared online have made him cautious about relationships. He recalled that he was once married in 2003 but divorced two years later, and since then, he has been careful not to rush into another commitment. He noted that while he still believes in love, the modern dating scene often makes him fearful of emotional pain and public embarrassment.
The Mavin Records boss said that he has seen both happy and troubled relationships, which shape his view of love and commitment. According to him, some people experience genuine affection, while others go through betrayal and abuse. The constant exposure of people’s private lives and breakups on social media, he said, has made him more guarded about relationships.
Don Jazzy described himself as more reserved these days, focusing mainly on his work and keeping a small circle. He explained that most of his time is spent either at home, in his office, or in the studio, and he now relies on his team to handle most business matters.
He stressed that teamwork is a major part of his success, noting that no one achieves great things alone. On his taste in music, the producer said he enjoys listening to different genres and finds inspiration in everyday sounds. He praised artists like Johnny Drille for their talent and also mentioned that performers such as Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy, D’banj, 2Face, and Olamide have helped push Nigerian music to greater heights
Don Jazzy added that he still believes in God but has become more careful about how he practices his faith because of certain experiences with religious institutions.
Despite his fears and personal struggles, the music star continues to enjoy respect from fans who admire his honesty, humility, and consistency in the entertainment industry.
