The All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed confidence of unseating Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, in the August 15 governorship election.
The Director-General of the APC Campaign Council, Oluwole Oke, made the assertion on Wednesday during the inauguration of the party’s campaign committees in Osogbo.
Oke said the ruling administration in the state had failed to meet the expectations of the people, alleging mismanagement of resources and poor performance across key sectors, including education, healthcare, and agriculture.
“The truth remains that the government has failed the people of Osun State on all fronts,” he said, adding that the APC would capitalise on the perceived shortcomings of the current administration to secure victory at the polls.
He predicted that the APC candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, would emerge winner, insisting that Governor Adeleke would be defeated before the end of election day.
“We are experts in removing a sitting governor. We will remove Adeleke before 10 p.m. on August 15, 2026,” Oke said.
He assured voters that an Oyebamiji-led administration would prioritise citizens’ welfare and address the challenges facing the state.
However, the Osun State Government dismissed the claims, describing them as unfounded.
Responding, the Deputy Spokesperson to the Governor, Oladele Bamiji, said the Adeleke administration had recorded significant achievements across sectors and enjoyed widespread support among residents.

“Schools in Osun are in good condition, hospitals are functioning well, and other sectors are receiving adequate attention. The people of Osun are satisfied with the performance of their governor,” Bamiji said.
He expressed confidence that Adeleke would secure re-election, adding that the outcome of the poll would be clear well before the end of voting.
Osun voters are expected to head to the polls on August 15 to elect a governor. While Adeleke is seeking a second term, Oyebamiji is contesting on the APC platform.
Also in the race is former Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Najeem Salaam, who is running on the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
