We will shut Nigeria on September 28 – TUC, NLC

Nigerian Labour Congress , NLC, and Trade Union Congress, TUC,  have agreed to shut down the country on September 28, 2020 in a mother of protests.

The planned protest is against the hike in electricity tarrif and fuel pump price.

Both the NLC and the TUC reached the decision at their NEC meetings held on Tuesda.

They agreed that they would embark on protest to force President Muhammadu Buhari to reverse the hike in electricity tarrif and fuel pump with immediate effect.

Both TUC and NLC had given the Federal Government a 7-day ultimatum for the reversal of the increment in the electricity tariff and prices of petroleum products.

The ultimatum has since expired, thus setting the stage for the planned shutdown.
