Seyi, the son of President Bola Tinubu, was reportedly barred on Sunday from having a handshake with Pope Leo XIV when it was the turn of his father to do so.

But the video clip, credited to State House Msdia crew, which is in circulation, THE CONCLAVE has observed did not conclusively indicate that Seyi was barred by security officials.

As a matter of fact, as could be vividly seen, he was passed on by a security detail donning a black suit with white vest inside.

Seyi was actually triple or four steps away from the Pope when the video clip ended.

Except the reports relied on the confirmation by the State House media crew on the ground in the Vstican, otherwise, the video in circulation has not successfully proved the veracity of the claim that the president’s son was barred.

Sundry media reports claimed the security agents controlling the filing past of the new Pope and handshake with him steered Seyi in another direction as he made to follow his father.

A video by the State House media crew reportedly captured the moments President Tinubu had the handshake with the Pope and “Seyi was steered in another direction at the Vatican on Sunday after the inauguration of Leo XIV as the head of the Catholic Church worldwide.”

In the footage, President Tinubu was seen interacting with Pope Leo XIV before an aide whispered into his ear, signalling the end of his time.

Sundry reports claimed that as President Tinubu was being ushered away, Seyi had attempted to move forward but was quickly stopped and redirected by papal officials.

This moment rigjtly or wrongly has sparked intense reactions on social media, with many debating protocol and decorum at high-level religious events.
