U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement on Tuesday arrested Olatunde Abiodun Olusanjo, a 53-year-old Nigerian, in Los Angeles over prior convictions for child molestation and other sex offences, the agency said.
Olusanjo was taken into custody April 21, 2026 by Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) officers and remains in ICE detention pending removal proceedings.
“Los Angeles ERO arrested Olatunde Abiodun Olusanjo, 53, of Nigeria, Apr. 21,” the LA ERO office posted on X. “Olusanjo has previous arrests for child molestation, sexual battery and soliciting lewd conduct. He is in ICE custody pending removal.”
ICE described him as a “criminal illegal alien and convicted sex offender.” Video released by the agency shows Olusanjo in handcuffs being led from an ICE vehicle. The narration in the clip stated his record “includes child molestation, sexual battery, and sexual solicitation.”
The arrest is part of ongoing ICE operations targeting non-citizens with criminal convictions. In February, the Department of Homeland Security said 79 Nigerians were among those arrested in a sweep of offenders facing charges including sexual assault, fraud, manslaughter, drug smuggling, kidnapping and robbery.
Olusanjo remains detained as deportation proceedings continue.
