The Urhobo Leadership Forum Abuja (ULFA) has expressed shock and sadness over the passing away of Chief Oscar Ibru, a prominent son of the Urhobo nation.
In a press release signed by its President, Olorogun Peter Igho (MFR), ULFA described Ibru as a resourceful and colorful individual who lived a life deeply connected to his roots.
The forum praised Ibru for his commitment to celebrating Urhobo culture and his contributions to the community’s progress.
As the son of the late Olorogun Michael Ibru, Oscar Ibru followed in his father’s footsteps, consolidating a legacy of capacity building and empowerment for the Urhobo people.
ULFA extended its deep condolences to Ibru’s widow, children, the Ibru family, and the entire Urhobo nation.
The forum joined with his family and numerous friends in bidding him farewell, praying that his soul rests in eternal peace.

“It was with great shock that we learned of the passing away of one of Urhobo’s illustrious sons, Chief Oskar Ibru today.
“We, at ULFA ,are saddened, by this news and hereby send our deep condolences to his widow, the children, the Ibru family and indeed, the Urhobo Nation.
“Oscar Ibru, lived a resourceful and colorful life, stepping into the big shoes of his father, Olorogun Michael Ibru ,whose business interests traversed the length and breadth of our great country and beyond and who passed away a few years ago.
“Though urbane and cosmopolitan,he was very much connected to his roots , the Ibru dynasty and the Osadjere dynasty of Agbarah Otor and Ovwhor of Ughelli North and Ughelli South respectively.
“For him, it was a call to duty as he ensured his presence at any cultural event both at home or or anywhere else provided it provided an opportunity to celebrate Urhobo.
“We shall indeed miss his colorful and relatively short life, his contributions to Urhobo life and progress and in continuation of his father’s footsteps in capacity building and empowerment of the Urhobos.
“We join with his family and numerous friends in bidding him farewell.
May God grant his soul eternal rest, Amen.”
