The management of the University of Jos, Plateau State, has appointed a Vanguard newspaper’s former correspondent, Taye Obateru, as Professor of Journalism and Cultural Studies

Platforms Africa reported that Obateru is the twin brother of a former spokesperson for the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, Dr Kennie Obateru.

Meanwhile, friends and colleagues have taken to social media to congratulate him.

Celebrating Obateru’s appointment, rights lawyer Richard Akinola, wrote, “Congratulations my own person, the latest professor in town, Professor Taye Obateru, Professor of Journalism and Cultural Studies.”

The management and staff members of THE CONCLAVE also felicitated Prof Obateru on his significant elevation.
