The United Nations Resident and Humanitarian coordinator, Matthias Schmale, has emphasised more of technical support for effective engagement in Nigeria.
Schmale stated this when the UN country team led by the Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator receives parliamentary secretary to Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Robert Oliphant at the UN House, Abuja on Thursday.
He explained that the United Nations was ready always to deploy its convening power to find solutions to challenges of sustainable development.
Heads of UN agencies in attendance provided highlights of their works, challenges and opportunities.
Honourable Oliphant explained that the government of Canada was disposed to supporting Nigeria across the peace, humanitarian and development spectrum.
He was accompanied by Ambassador Kevin Tokar, the Canadian High Commissioner designate for Nigeria.
