Nigeria’s Flamingos thrashed Egypt 4-0 in the first leg of their third round qualifying contest at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja on Sunday.

Opeyemi Ajakaye set the Flamingos on the road to victory when he netted the opener two minutes before the half hour mark.

Omowunmi Bello’s header off Fatimoh Adeshina’s well struck corner handed the Flamingos the second goal of the match seven minutes before the break.

The Flamingos continued their dominance in the second half and were rewarded for their efforts with the third goal in the 54th minute.

Miracle Usani fired home with a low shot from the edge of the box.

Bello fired beyond on rushing Egypt keeper to grab her brace and the Flamingos fourth two minutes after the hour mark.

The reverse fixture will take place in Cairo on Friday, April 28. (Prompt News)
