Two men bag three years imprisonment for stealing chickens

An Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, convicted and sentenced two men, Moses Uker ,35; and Monday Gambo, 32, to a term of three years imprisonment for stealing chickens.
The convicts were charged before Chief Magistrate Abayomi Adeosun, on Dec. 5, 2025, on a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.
Delivering judgement, Adeosun found the convicts guilty of the charges and accordingly convicted them.
The court consequently, sentenced them to a term of three years imprisonment each, without option of fine.
On count one, the court sentenced the convicts to a term of one year imprisonment each, while on count two, he sentenced them to a term of three years imprisonment .
The court held that the term of imprisonment shall run concurrently.
The prosecutor, ASP Akinwale Oriyomi, had told the court that the defendants, committed the offences on Nov.19, 2025, in Ado-Ekiti.
He said that they had conspired to commit the felony of stealing.

According to him, the convicts, who were security guards at a poultry farm, stole 500 chickens valued at nine million naira belonging to one Mr Falade Solomon.
He said that the offences contravene the provisions of section 302(1)(a) and 421 of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021.
During their arraignment, the defendants had each pleaded not guilty to the charges.
They were granted bails in the sum of N100,000 each with two sureties each in like sum
To prove its case, the prosecution called two witnesses and tendered evidences before the court..
