Operatives of Amotekun were said to have been drafted to the area to restore peace.

According to the residents, in the process, two persons suspected to be hoodlums were killed while one other was seriously wounded.

Reacting, Field Commandant Amotekun, Amitolu Shittu, denied shooting at hoodlums, saying they only made an arrest.

He said that after the arrest of one of the suspected hoodlums, they bombarded my house and vandalized it, including the cars parked in the premises.

“Today, we arrested some of them around 10:15am around Balogun Agoro area and handed them over to the police. We did not shoot anybody. If we did stray bullet could hit market women around the area.

“When we were chasing some of those hoodlums, the car of the hoodlum head named Emir was towed by police to their station.

“One Lekan led hoodlums numbering about 30 to my house to vandalise the property. They used axes on my gates, shattered glasses and destroyed some vehicles,” Shittu said.
