Former CBN Deputy Governor Mr. Tunde Lemo, OFR, and wife Pastor Mrs. Oluyemi Lemo led family, friends and dignitaries on Friday to lay Deaconess Rachael Adediran Coker, née Osoyade, to rest in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The matriarch died in March 2026 at 94. The Lemos, with Pastor Mrs. Lemo as one of her daughters, coordinated a two-day funeral honouring a life of faith and service.
Activities began with a Wake-Keep Service at Henry Townsend Hall, St. Peter’s Cathedral, Ake. This was followed by a funeral and thanksgiving service themed “Celebrating a Life Well Lived” at Christ Anglican Church, Iporo-Ake. A grand reception at Legacy Hall, Abeokuta Sports Club, GRA, Ibara, closed the ceremonies.

The events drew religious leaders, traditional rulers, political figures, financial experts and business leaders from Nigeria and abroad. Notable guests included Otunba Segun Sowunmi, Senator Gbenga Obadara, Otunba Tunji Akinlade and Oba-Edu Ifayomi.
Guests described Deaconess Coker as a woman of integrity, compassion and strong family values whose impact spanned generations.
Entertainer Taiwo Akinwale Oguntade, aka Big Tee, led musical tributes at the reception, which also featured cultural displays and tributes.
Photographs and videos captured the deep bond between the late matriarch and her daughter Pastor Mrs. Lemo and son-in-law Tunde Lemo. Their visible commitment to a dignified farewell drew commendations.
For the Lemo and Coker families, the burial closed an emotional chapter. Her legacy of love, sacrifice and godly living, they said, will continue to inspire generations.
