Trump picks Pam Bondi for Attorney General following Matt Gaetz Withdraws

U.S. President-elect, Donald Trump has nominated Pam Bondi for the position of Attorney General following the withdrawal of his previous nominee, Matt Gaetz.

Sources report that Bondi, a former Attorney General of Florida, has experience from her time in Trump’s earlier administration.

The announcement of Bondi’s nomination came shortly after Gaetz characterised the controversy surrounding his own nomination as a “distraction” for the president-elect.

Gaetz is currently under scrutiny from the House Ethics Committee due to allegations of s3xual misconduct, including accusations involving a minor and illicit drug use.

He has denied any allegations of wrongdoing.
