Donald Trump and 18 co-defendants have until noon ET Friday to voluntarily surrender to Georgia authorities after being criminally charged in the state’s 2020 election subversion case.
Trump is expected to turn himself in to the Fulton County jail Thursday or Friday, according to a senior law enforcement official.
Terms of bond:
Trump and several co-defendants are expected to negotiate the terms of their bond today with the Fulton County district attorney’s office, according to sources.
Conversations between Trump’s legal team and the DA are expected to continue this week about the logistics of his surrender, sources say.
The charges:
In an unsealed indictment last week, Trump is accused of being the head of a “criminal enterprise” that was part of a broad criminal conspiracy to overturn his electoral defeat.
The other defendants include former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows and ex-Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani.
Fourth indictment:
Trump now faces 91 charges across four separate criminal cases at the same time he’s running for president in 2024.
He denies any wrongdoing and slams the cases as politically motivated. (CNN)
