Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have achieved a breakthrough in counterterrorism efforts across Zamfara and Sokoto States, neutralizing key terrorist leaders and dismantling their networks between February 1 and 10, 2025.
According to Coordinator, Joint Media Coordination Centre Operation FANSAN YAMMA Lt. Col. Abubakar Abdullahi, among those eliminated in fierce battles across Shinkafi and Zurmi Local Government Areas (LGA) in Zamfara, as well as Isa LGA in Sokoto, were notorious kingpins Kachalla Na Faransa, Dogon Bakkwalo, Auta Gobaje, and Dan Mai Dutsi.
The military offensive also led to the destruction of 40 terrorist enclaves, including strategic locations such as Tungar Fulani, Unguwar Goga, Gangara Hill, and Gidan Maji, significantly weakening terrorist operations in the region.
In addition to these successes, troops recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition and rescued dozens of kidnapped victims.
The ongoing operation aims to further disrupt terrorist activities and restore security in North West Nigeria and parts of Niger State.
The military has called on the public to provide intelligence on fleeing terrorists, including Bello Turji and his associates, assuring that all information will be treated with confidentiality.
