Troops of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) have conducted a successful operation, dismantling an illegal gun manufacturing facility and confiscating a significant quantity of weapons and ammunition in the Mangu local government area.
According to a statement from Captain Oya James, the Media Information Officer for OPSH, the factory was unearthed during a thorough sweep operation in a mountainous terrain.
Located atop a high elevation in Pakachi Village, the discreet structure harbored an illicit operation engaged in the production of illegal firearms.

The operation yielded a substantial haul of illegal firearms and related paraphernalia, leading to the apprehension of one person identified as 25-year-old Tapshak Plangji, suspected to be actively involved in the unlawful activities conducted at the facility.
Meanwhile, the alleged proprietor of the factory, Mr. Nuhu Meshack, remains at large as security forces intensify efforts to locate and apprehend him.
A comprehensive list of seized items from the factory includes 5 AK 47 rifles, 4 AK 47 magazines, 11 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, 5 rounds of 9mm ammunition, 21 Dane guns, 4 revolver rifles, 11 pistols with 5 magazines, 17 gun barrels, 6 rounds of 0.44-inch ammunition, a carbide cylinder with accessories, 3 saws, and 12 filing machines.
Additionally, authorities confiscated 4 hammers, 6 manual drilling machines, 2 electrically operated filing machines, 2 clamps, one spraying machine, one Tiger generator, and various drilling irons.
Both Mr. Plangji and the recovered weapons and items are presently in the custody of the troops for further investigation.
The statement underscored the unwavering commitment of the troops and their collaborative efforts with other security agencies in combating the production and dissemination of illegal arms, as well as addressing criminal activities within local communities.
