The Joint Task Force North West Operation HADARIN DAJI has combated terrorism in the ongoing dry season clearance operations in Zamfara state.
According Information Officer, Operation HADARIN DAJI Captain Yahaya Ibrahim, the troops on January 29, 2024 conducted successful operations in various locations within Zamfara state, resulting in the rescue of 20 kidnap victims and the neutralization of two terrorists, including a notorious leader identified as Sainaje from Katsina state.
He said the operation, spanning Rukudawa, Dumburum, Tsanu, Birnin Tsaba, Magare, and Shamushalle general areas of Zurmi and Birnin Magaji Local Government Areas, saw the destruction of several terrorists’ enclaves, including that of the infamous terrorist kingpin, Sule.
The aggressive troops engaged the terrorists in a heavy confrontation, forcing them to flee their camps.
Ibrahim said during the operation, two terrorists, including the notorious leader Sainaje, were neutralized.
He said the successful mission resulted in the rescue of 18 kidnap victims, comprising four males, 14 females, and children.

Additionally, two victims who had been abducted by terrorists while on transit on the Shinkafi-Isa Road in Zamfara state were successfully rescued.
The captors abandoned the victims during a gun duel with the highly motivated troops, whose prompt response was instrumental in the successful rescue.
Ibrahim said all rescued victims had been handed over to the appropriate authorities to facilitate their reunification with their respective families.
Major General Godwin Mutkut, the Commander Joint Task Force North West Operation HADARIN DAJI and General Officer Commanding 8 Division Nigerian Army, expressed commendation for the troops’ unwavering determination and resilience in their continuous efforts to restore normalcy in the Northwest.
