Nigerian troops of 109 Strike Force Battalion in Magumeri, Borno State, on fighting patrol and night ambush towards Mallumti on Sunday evening killed several Boko Haram Terrorists (BHT) and the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP fighters.
According to a senior military source, the troops BHT/ISWAP located and neutralized the insurgents.
The source added that the troops also recovered weapons and a vehicle and that further exploitation was still ongoing.

Meanwhile, troops of 25 Task Force Brigade Damboa, also in Borno State in conjunction with members of civilian JTF during a clearance operation on the same Sunday January 2022 destroyed BHT/ISWAP camp at Bala Maduri.
The military source said the camp was burnt down and several equipment were recovered.
On Saturday January 29th, troops of 5 Brigade on fighting patrol to BHT/ISWAP enclave in Douro near Damasak in Borno State, also infiltrated the terrorist’s location and the terrorists fled in disarray abandoning their guntrucks and weapons.
