In Kaduna State, Mallam Hashimu Ahmad, a notorious arms dealer on the wanted list for supplying arms to terrorists, was apprehended at Saminaka in Lere Local Government Area.
The security forces recovered a substantial cache of weapons, including a General Purpose Machine Gun, a Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG) Launcher, an RPG bomb, 1,069 rounds of 7.62mm (special) ammunition, and one belt of 7.62mm (NATO) ammunition.
The vehicle used for transporting these weapons was also seized.
In Delta State, based on credible intelligence, troops intercepted a tanker truck carrying 15,000 liters of suspected illegally refined Automated Gas Oil (AGO) at Ozoro, in Isoko North Local Government Area.
Two suspects associated with the illegal transport were taken into custody for preliminary investigation.
In Sokoto State, troops on patrol in Matalawa village, Isa Local Government Area, successfully rescued hostages abducted and taken into the forest.
Responding to a distress call, the troops engaged the kidnappers in a gunfight, securing the safe release of the victims, who have since been reunited with their families.
