Trillium Stars British International School in Kpansia, Yenagoa, has been conferred with the “Best Discovery School of the Year” award by the Bayelsa Media Network Awards (BMNA) for 2025.
The school received official notification of the honour on Monday when a delegation from BMNA, led by Project Manager Mr. Blessing Mathew Ozegbe, visited the School to present the nomination letter.
Speaking on behalf of the Proprietress, Mrs. Onu Chioma, the school Administrator, Mrs. Egbe Anne, expressed delight and surprise at the recognition.
“We never expected this, especially when you consider the bigger schools with established names and imposing structures. This award is a huge encouragement and will motivate us to reach even greater heights,” Mrs. Egbe said.
She reaffirmed the school’s commitment to discipline, integrity, and academic excellence, noting that its blended British-Nigerian curriculum prepares students to excel anywhere in the world.
“In ten years, we see Trillium Stars having branches in different parts of Nigeria,” she declared.
Commending the institution, BMNA Project Manager Mr. Blessing Ozegbe highlighted the school’s exceptional care for children with special needs, the dedication of its teachers, and its overall high standards.
“We are here purely because of the integrity and quality you have sustained. Money played no part in this decision,” Ozegbe stressed.
He advised the management to increase publicity efforts and urged teachers to keep upgrading their skills, adding, “Other schools in Bayelsa should emulate what you are doing here. For Trillium Stars, the sky is just the beginning.”
The award will be formally presented on December 26, 2025, during the BMNA ceremony at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Bayelsa State Council Secretariat in Yenagoa.
