Why setting fitness goals is important for everyone is because it gives you a direction and clear understanding of what you want to achieve whether you want to lose excess body fat, gain muscles or just to keep a sustainable body weight or improve your flexibility and performance.

It can also help you to be Intentional and stay motivated every day and it helps you track your progress till you achieve your desired fitness goal.

For example if someone wants to lose 30kg, it is important to understand what is a healthy amount of excess body fat to lose in a week and how to approach their nutrition while maintaining a sustainable way of losing the fat.

Fitness goals influence our daily lives in so many ways like mental and physical health as well as improving our energy levels and brain functions daily which gives a good quality of life.

WHY DO I STRUGGLE WITH STAYING CONSISTENT IN MY FITNESS ROUTINES?

👉🏻Lack of planning: not having a clear understanding to what you are looking to achieve.

👉🏻 Inability to prioritize: Due to activities like work, family, and personal obligations it will be a struggle for you who is trying to be consistent to make out time to keep fit.

👉🏻Unrealistic goals: setting goals that are difficult to achieve e.g.losing 10kg in one week.

👉🏻Lack of support: Not having a workout partner, or joining group fitness classes and not having a personal trainer can be a big struggle with staying consistent.

👉🏻Impatience: Don’t think fitness is a short term goal, it is a life time lifestyle and it requires patience. So be patient and consistent. Stop comparing yourself with others who are on the same fitness journey with you.

👉🏻Fear: Fear of getting injured, fear of muscle soreness and fear of failure can be a struggle with staying consistent.

👉🏻Information: lack of proper information or listening to unreal information can discourage you with staying consistent.

WHAT ARE SOME SMALL STEPS I CAN TAKE TO MAKE FITNESS A NATURAL PART OF MY LIFESTYLE

👉🏻Exercise 4 to 5 times in a week by picking an exercise program that you love which you can never be bored of and that can be done anywhere and anytime and be consistent with it.

👉🏻Eat natural foods not processed (if nature doesn’t make it, don’t eat it)

👉🏻Stay hydrated and get enough sleep.

Practice these simple routines and they’ll become part of you naturally.

HOW CAN I BALANCE MY BUSY SCHEDULE WITH MAINTAINING A SUSTAINABLE FITNESS GOALS

👉🏻Setting a goal that is non negotiable and making it a Priority.

👉🏻Schedule your fitness goals like a Meeting. Treat them as non-negotiable appointments.

👉🏻If you are too busy Sometimes, you don’t need to split your fitness goals from your lifestyle, you can integrate them with each other.

For example, walking or cycling to work or your office, taking stairs instead of the elevator or stretching during work breaks as well as minding what you eat during work hours.

HOW IMPORTANT IS MY NUTRITION TO MY FITNESS GOALS HABITS

Nutrition is the foundation or the king to a sustainable fitness lifestyle. Nutrition has a bigger impact on weight loss than exercise alone. Also you cannot out exercise bad nutrition because nutrition itself will improve your overall health.

WHAT ROLE DOES HAVING A WORKOUT BUDDY OR COMMUNITY PLAY IN CREATING A FITNESS HABITS

The enthusiasm of a fitness group or your workout buddy will always be your fuel. Even when you are at your lowest, workout friends or the community will always be there to motivate and inspire you and they create a healthy relationship and camaraderie too.
