Nigeria LNG Limited, NLNG, says construction of its Train 7 project has reached 90% completion, with pre-commissioning already underway and full commissioning targeted for 2027.
The project is expected to increase NLNG’s overall production capacity by 35% and has created direct jobs for 16,000 Nigerians on site, the company said.

The update came during a courtesy visit by NLNG’s Managing Director and Chief Executive, Engr. Adeleye Falade, to the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, NCDMB, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, at the Board’s Lagos liaison office.
Falade said NLNG remains focused on deepening Nigerian Content, strengthening indigenous capacity, and retaining more value in-country across the gas value chain.
“The Train 7 project has created direct employment opportunities for 16,000 persons on the site, reducing insecurity and impacting positively on the nation’s socio-economic stability,” he stated.
He added that NLNG would sustain engagement with NCDMB in areas including vendor development, skills enhancement, technology transfer, local procurement, and value retention.
“NLNG values its relationship with NCDMB and remains fully committed to the shared goal of strengthening Nigerian Content in the oil and gas industry,” Falade said. “Our commitment is to work closely with the Board in a manner that is deliberate, measurable, and impactful.”

Ogbe congratulated Falade on his appointment and pledged the Board’s support. He recalled that NCDMB and NLNG signed Nigeria’s first Service Level Agreement, SLA, on Nigerian Content project approval timelines in June 2017 — a model later adopted across the industry.
The Executive Secretary urged NLNG to increase support for the Brass Shipyard project, the Train 7 Capacity Development Initiative, CDI, which will deliver a drydock facility. He said the facility would benefit NLNG’s operations and the wider Nigerian economy.
“I expressed hope that the project can be completed within the tenure of the NLNG management, to create employment opportunities and infrastructural development,” Ogbe said.

The meeting forms part of NLNG’s wider stakeholder engagement and reinforces the company’s commitment to local capacity growth and increased participation of Nigerian firms across the oil and gas value chain, both parties said.
