A community member, David Amaraizu, who confirmed the incident to journalists on Sunday, said there was no known record of public disagreement between the couple before the incident.

“We are not aware of any disagreement between the couple before the incident,” Amaraizu said.

“The woman had been arrested and is currently in police custody, while the deceased’s body has been deposited at a morgue.”

The couple had their wedding in December 2025, meaning they were married for barely eight months before the tragedy.
