The Commander of the Training and Doctrine Command Nigerian Army (TRADOC NA), Major General Stevenson Olabanji, recently organized a commendation Dinner Night to honor the outstanding service and dedication of personnel who served under his command over the past two years.
The event took place at the Minna Military Cantonment in Niger State.
On the occasion, Major General Victor Ezugwu, the Special Guest of Honour, expressed his delight at being among senior officers who played a crucial role in ensuring effective training of personnel and carrying out other key activities of the Nigerian Army (NA).
He commended the commitment, dedication, and selfless service of the TRADOC and NA, emphasizing the daily sacrifices made to enhance the command’s reputation and uphold the TRADOC NA motto, “Towards Greater Heights.”
He acknowledged the challenging tasks of training, strategizing, and developing tactics to counter the activities of adversaries and non-state actors, highlighting the significance of these efforts.
General Ezugwu appreciated the posted-out officers for maintaining the standards that earned them commendation awards.
He encouraged them to go the extra mile in serving their country and use their positions to inspire others to follow in their footsteps.
He congratulated all the awardees for their hard work and commitment to duty, recognizing their exceptional leadership and professionalism, which aligns with the vision of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya, for “A Professional Nigerian Army Ready to Accomplish Assigned Missions within a Joint Environment in the Defence of Nigeria.”
Furthermore, General Ezugwu praised the leadership of TRADOC NA, as well as the officers and soldiers selected for commendation awards.
In his welcome address, Major General Olabanji, the Commander of TRADOC NA, highlighted that the event was organized to celebrate the commendable service and unwavering dedication of serving, retired, and posted-out officers and soldiers of TRADOC NA. He expressed his pleasure in acknowledging and recognizing their exceptional contributions and selfless devotion during their tour of duty over the past two years, which greatly supported his mandate as the Commander.
The event was attended by Major General GS Abdullahi, the Corps Commander Signal, as well as other senior officers, both serving and retired. Serving and retired soldiers of the command and invited guests were also present to witness the remarkable and unique occasion.
