A Jos Magistrates’ Court on Monday sentenced an 18-year-old trader, Veirat Dalyop, to three months in prison for selling and consuming hard drugs.
The Magistrate, Shawomi Bokkos, summarily tried and sentenced the convict who pleaded guilty to the charge.
Bokkos, in her judgement, however, gave the convict an option of fine of N20, 000.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Insp Ahmed Labaran, told the court that the case was reported at the “A” Division Police Station on March 4 by officers on routine patrols.
Labaran said that the convict was found with a bag of dry leaves suspected to be marijuana.
The prosecutor said that the offence contravened the Plateau Penal Code Law.
