Renowned Nigerian gospel singer Tope Alabi has been joyous over the arrival of her grandchild.
She described the moment as a long-awaited dream fulfilled.
She celebrated her daughter, Ayomikun Alabi, for embracing motherhood.
The singer made the announcement in an Instagram post on Friday.
She disclosed that her first child had given birth shortly after Ayomikun showcased her baby bump in a recently released music video featuring fellow gospel artiste BBO.
“I’m eternally grateful to God for this joyful addition to my family. Indeed Ayomiku, ayo si kun inu mi,” Alabi wrote.
She commended her daughter’s growth and strength, praising the woman she has become.
“My beautiful, strong girl @the_ayomikualabi_ I am so proud of the woman and mother you have become. Welcome to the world, my darling grandchild, I have dreamt of holding you for so long, and now I’m showering you with kisses as I watch you grow.”
The gospel star also described her transition into grandmotherhood as deeply fulfilling, noting, “Being your grandma is my new favourite role. Big congratulations to the Bantales.”
The joyful news comes months after Ayomikun’s private wedding to her husband, Oluwole Bantale, in 2025.
Although the ceremony was meant to be low-key, photos and video clips later surfaced online, offering glimpses into the celebration.
