Veteran journalist, Sir Tony Obiechina, on Easter Sunday, 20th April 2025, turned 70. His family members marked the occasion of his 70th birthday with pomp and circumstance.
Significantly, they marked the landmark age with a Thanksgiving Mass at the Twelve Apostles Catholic Church in Abuja.
After the Thanksgiving Mass, members of his family treated him and guests to a reception.
In a message of felicitations to Sir Obiechina, publisher and editor-in-chief of THE CONCLAVE online newspaper, Mr Sufuyan Ojeifo described the celebrator as “a passionate media professional with nose for news.”
Ojeifo said that Obiechina’s passion for journalism was further exemplified by the fact that “at 70, he still writes news, on a freelance arrangement, across media platforms.
“I celebrate not only the years in his life, but also, more importantly, the life in his years. Obiechina has robustly invested his life in journalism, particularly of the development genre, his forte being business and economy.
“I pray that the Almighty God will grant Obiechina a long life in good health and also to keep him mentally sharp and alert to share his experience(s) with those of us coming behind him. Happy birthday, Sir!”
