His tenure as Governor of Benue State (1999–2007) established a standard of governance that continues to inspire. Beyond his governorship, his service as a Senator (2007–2019), Minister of Special Duties and Inter-governmental Affairs (2019–2023), and now as Secretary to the Government of the Federation exemplifies his enduring commitment to national development.

It is crucial that we, as public commentators and leaders, approach such legacies with due regard, ensuring our words and actions foster unity rather than division.
