Tinubu expresses condolences over Ibadan explosion

In the aftermath of the tragic explosion that occurred in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, on Tuesday night, President Bola Tinubu has expressed profound sorrow over the incident, which claimed the lives of two individuals and left approximately 80 others injured.

The explosion also resulted in extensive damage to numerous buildings, vehicles, and other property.

Expressing his concerns, President Tinubu voiced unease at the attribution of the blast to the activities of illegal miners.

He strongly condemned the inexcusable and reckless behaviour that led to the unfortunate incident, emphasizing the necessity to identify and hold accountable those responsible for creating the conditions that precipitated the explosion.

In a formal statement, by his Special Adviser to the on Media and Publicity, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu extended heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Oyo State.

He urged all relevant government agencies to swiftly investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragedy and bring those responsible to justice.

President Tinubu has directed the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to collaborate with the Oyo State Government in providing immediate and comprehensive relief to the victims of the explosion.

The President emphasized the importance of a coordinated effort to address the aftermath of the incident and alleviate the suffering of those affected.
