President Bola Ahmad Tinubu has given his approval for the appointment of a new management team for the Nigeria Customs Services.
This decision comes following the appointment of Acting Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, on June 19, 2023, and the retirement of certain management members in the Service.
According to a statement by Chief Superintendent of Customs, Abdullahi Maiwada, who serves as the NCS National Public Relations Officer, the President had sanctioned the appointment of the following individuals to key positions within the organization: DCG FO Okun, DCG MBA Musa, and DCG A Hamisu as Deputy Comptroller Generals (DCGs), along with ACG K Olumoh, ACG AB Mohammed, and ACG A Alajogun as Assistant Comptroller Generals (ACGs).
In response, the Acting Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, expressed his gratitude to the retired members of the management for their commendable service and also extended his congratulations to the newly appointed officers.
He urged the newly appointed team members to redouble their efforts and work tirelessly to achieve greater heights in fulfilling the Service’s core mandates, which include revenue generation, suppression of smuggling, and facilitating trade within the country.
