Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva has announced his entry into the presidential race in a different style: through the gift of presidential expression of interest and nomination forms.
His presidential enterprise is of course on the platform of the governing All Progressives Congress, APC.
The development came on the heels of a May 4, 2022 report by THE CONCLAVE indicating that he made compact list of Buhari presidency’s okay aspirants being considered as likely successors.

The six okay aspirants as listed in the report were Vice-president Yemi Osinbajo, Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva, Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajiuba, Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Mr Godwin Emefiele and former President Goodluck Jonathan.
A source close to the development had told THE CONCLAVE that Buhari’s successor would most likely emerge from this list.
Five days after, Timipre Sylva, who was never mentioned in the race for the presidency, has emerged on the scene.
He was on Monday presented a gift of the forms by the New Nigeria Group.

Present on the occasion of the presentation of the forms to him were Senator representing Bayelsa East Senatorial District at the National Assembly Senator Biobarakuma Degi-Eremienyo, Chairman Bayelsa State All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Denis Otiotio and leader of The Good People of Nigeria group.
After the procurement of the forms, they presented the same to him at the NNPC Towers, Abuja.
