A three-storey building collapsed early Thursday morning on Asesi Lane, near Adeniji Adele Road, Lagos Island, leaving several people injured.

The incident prompted a swift response from emergency services, who managed to rescue four individuals trapped under the rubble.
The victims have since been taken to the hospital for treatment.

Confirming the incident via his official Facebook page, Lagos State Commissioner for Information, Gbenga Omotoso, stated: “A three-storey building has collapsed on Lagos Island.
“It is not yet clear why the structure at 2/4 Asesi Lane, also known as SASI Palace, gave way. Four persons have been rescued from the rubble and taken to hospital.”

Responders from multiple agencies, including the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS), the Fire Service, Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Corps (LNSC), Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), and the Nigeria Police, were deployed in the scene to aid in rescue operations and secure the area.
Investigations are expected to begin into the cause of the collapse.
