In spite of her father’s sudden death three days ago, Abisola, the daughter of the late Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Hon. Funminiyi Afuye, on Saturday, got married to her heartthrob, Babatunde.
The wedding ceremony held at the Archishop Vinning Memorial Church in Lagos.
Many had thought the death of Afuye would necessitate a postponement of the marriage ceremony.
The ceremony was attended by government officials, lawmakers and Ekiti indigenes.
The reception was held at an event centre in Ikeja GRA.
Afuye died at the Ekiti State Teaching Hospital in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital, on Wednesday, from cardiac arrest.
The last public function attended by the late Speaker was the interfaith thanksgiving service organised to mark Governor Oyebanji’s resumption in office at the Government House grounds in Ado-Ekiti on Tuesday.
