The Board of “The Guardian” newspaper has approved the membership of Mr Martins Oloja.

In the corollary, Mr Oloja becomes the Managing Director/Editor-in-Chief (MD/EiC) of the flagship newspaper.

The CONCLAVE reports that the approval of Mr Oloja’s membership of the board of the frontline newspaper was consummated at its meeting last Thursday.

Mr Oloja has put into journalism practice more than three decades as reporter, writer, editor, editorial writer and manager.

He was once the Abuja Bureau Editor of the newspaper and later the Editor of The Guardian.

He also served as the editor of the robust Opinion Page of the newspaper in his dual capacity as member of the Editorial Board of the influential newspaper.

Before joining The Guardian, he had worked for the “Abuja Newsday” as the second Editor of the premier newspaper from 1988-1993.

He is a product of the universities of Lagos and Liverpool, UK.

Having pounded the street as a reporter and manned the desk in the newsroom as an editor, Oloja has now moved to the boardroom as a manager, of course, in a very familiar terrain, to contribute to the dynamic effort at strengthening the editorial focus as well as management of the newspaper amid dwindling revenues from advertisements and sales in the COVID-19 era.
