Chairman, Directorate of Project Monitoring and Evaluation, Bayelsa State, Hon. Engr Ebiye Tarabina has inspected several ongoing projects in Yenagoa and other parts of the state as part of the mandate of his office to ensure that contractors handling government projects deliver according to specifications.
Some of the projects Engr. Tarabina inspected included
Imgbi Junction Bridge, a key infrastructure development designed to connect the hinterland to the State Capital, Glory Drive Phase 3 as part of measures to expand road network in Yenagoa.
Other projects the Chairman of the Directorate of Projects Monitoring and Evaluation inspected were the Polaku- Sabagrea Road and Bridge Connecting communities in Kolokuma/ Opokuma Local Government Area that will foster economic growth and development.
During the inspection, Engr Tarabina urged contractors to expedite action on the projects, emphasizing the Importance of meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards and push for timely completion to align with the state government commitment to infrastructural development inline with Governor Douye Diri Administration focus of prosperity for the people.
Engr.Tarabina said his main concern is to ensure that infrastructural projects undertaken by the state government are completed on record time and meet the required standards.
He hinted that the Directorate of Project Monitoring and Evaluation plays a vital role in monîtor ongoing projects and providing direction to contractors.
Other key projects monitored by the Directorate include Yenagoa-Oporoma Road, Angiama/Oporoma road linking major towns in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area to the State Capital.
The Nembe-Brass Road, a strategic road in the Bayelsa East Senatorial District, was also inspected by Engr. Tarabina, which has recorded significant progress, with dredging and sand filling at advanced stage of completion.
