Yoruba activist, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, who has ruffled feathers in Abuja and ancillary government circles in Southwest states in recent times, has denied ever meeting with Presidential aide, Babafemi Ojudu.

Ojudu had, in a widely circulated and published article, titled: “The Sunday Igboho I knew”, narrated how he connected Igboho with Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu who persuaded him to abandon the brief of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to deploy thugs to disrupt the 2009 rerun governorship election in Ekiti.

Ojudu claimed that the productive meeting between Tinubu and Igboho at a hotel in Akure made Igboho to create an alibi on which he abandoned the brief given by the PDP on the false telephone drama that the Police intelligence had exposed his group’s presence in Ekiti.

According to Ojudu, Igboho had quietly egressed Ekiti and returned to his base.

But Igboho on Tuesday, in an Instagram live interview with Dele Momodu, which was conducted in Yoruba language, discountenanced Ojudu and his narratives.

He said Ojudu lied. He also claimed that he had never, up the time of the interview, met Ojudu in his life and times.

He warned Ojudu to stop spreading falsehood about him or he should be ready to face a lawsuit.

Igboho, during the interview that is herein partly either translated or transliterated, said: “That man who calls himself Femi Ojudu or Ojodu, we have never had a meeting anywhere together.

“All those I did business with when I was in politics, there is no one who can say I betrayed him. It is (Rasheed) Ladoja (former Oyo Governor) that I dealt with.

“The only other person is our father, Lam Adesina (former Pyo Governor), and until they left power, I did not follow him to anyone.

“There is no other politician who can claim I ever worked for him. It is Ladoja alone I did business with. There is no other politician (other than Lam Adesina who handed me over to Ladoja who can claim).

“If there is such a person, he should speak up. That man (Ojudu) cooked up that lie to counter my programme of chasing herdsmen around for killing and destroying people’s lives to make it easier for Tinubu in the 2023 election.

“That is why he is telling those lies to tackle and spoil all I am doing. He lied completely and if there is any truth in all he said, he should prove it that I worked for him.

“Ojodu mentioned Ahmed Tinubu in the piece. You can go and ask Tinubu about the election. I have only worked for two people; the late Lamidi Adesina and Rashidi Ladoja. I never worked for Adedibu.

“Adedibu died in 2008 and Ojudu said the same Adedibu asked me to go to Ekiti in 2009. You can see he is a liar.

“Politicians are trying to penetrate the Yoruba struggle. You can kill the messenger but you cannot kill the message.

“I don’t know any Ojudu and if he is sure that I met him in a hotel, let him swear by the life of his children.”
